Teaching practice of students

At Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University teaching practice of students is an integral part of the process of training specialists of various qualifying levels: “bachelor”, “specialist” and ” master”.

Foreign Languages Department has signed agreements of cooperation with the following secondary educational establishments in the region: Uman City Grammar School (Gimnasia); Uman Secondary Schools 1, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 14, Uman Secondary School Collegium 7, Uman Secondary School Specialized in Enslish12, Monasteryshche Secondary School 5, where students of the Department have teaching practice under the supervision of university staff and experienced secondary school teachers.

Students are normally evaluated on the basis of lessons observed by their school-based supervisor or mentor and their higher education tutor. Assessment procedures include: accomplishment of assignments, evaluation of the papers submitted, small-group conferences, conferences and exams.

The best students are traditionally awarded by school authorities that indicate the effective cooperation of the university with city’s educational establishments, proves its advisability and indispensability.
