The main task of the foreign languages department is forming the personality of a national school teacher capable of being adapted to European standards of education and credit transfer system.

Searching for ways of improving the educational process, the department follows basic ideas of communication centered approach which is a modern standard in foreign language teaching. The use of traditional methods as well as new interactive educational technologies greatly contributes to raising the quality of foreign language teaching.

The professors and lecturers publish a lot of text-books, manuals and brochures for the students of different educational stages. The use of European training complexes contributes to creating appropriate conditions for realizing the international standard of content, arrangement and methods of foreign language teaching. These are often provided by highly qualified experts from abroad.

An important factor of efficient teacher training is the use of technical aids and modern technologies. The department focuses its efforts on the development of modern technical aids. It has 4 sound laboratories and a computer laboratory operating on a regular basis.

The teaching materials comprise sets of laboratory works, authentic audio and video records, feature and documentary films, modern licensed computer programs as well as training programs for international examinations (TOEFL, IELTS, etc).
