Breaking Barriers in Education: AMUSE Project

Переглядів 108
Education should be accessible to everyone – and the AMUSE project (Comprehensive Introduction of Augmented and Alternative Communication Methodology into the Ukrainian System of Education), co-funded by the EU, is contributing to make this a reality in Ukraine! Inspired by the EU’s extensive experience in inclusive and barrier-free education, we’re bridging the gap between Ukrainian and European universities to empower pre-service and in-service teachers with cutting-edge Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) methodologies.
🔹 Why is this AMUSE project mission important?
Children with speech impairments often face challenges in learning, especially in subjects like natural sciences. By equipping educators with AAC tools, we’re ensuring that these children can explore the world around them, understand fundamental concepts, and reach their full potential.
🔹 Project key objectives:
✅ The first-ever AAC-based textbook in Ukraine — “World Around Us for Kindergartens”! 📖
✅ A MOOC course, “AAC in Education,” designed for in-service teachers 🎓
✅ Development of new and revised courses to integrate AAC into teaching natural sciences 🌱🔬
✅ Extensive piloting of these resources across various educational institutions to promote inclusivity
By transforming teacher training and classroom strategies, we’re fostering a more inclusive learning environment for Ukrainian children. Together, we can reshape the future of education!
